Paul R. of Commack N.Y. on November 20, 2025 passed away peacefully at the age of 95.

Beloved husband of his late wife Rosemary of 66 Years. Cherished father of Diane R. Auspaker (Richard A.), Gary E. Bie (Eileen S.), Richard C. Bie (Suzanne), Kathryn M. Punturo (Richard) and the late Reverend Paul R. Bie.

Adored Grandfather/Poppy of 11: Kenneth Auspaker, Richard Auspaker, Michael Auspaker, Alexandra Britt, Jessica Beecher, Jennifer Mitchell, James Bie, Kevin Bie, Kristina Kurche, Victoria Maline, Alexa Punturo

and Great Grandfather/Poppy of 8: Hudson Auspaker, Leo Auspaker, Chase Auspaker, Natalie Auspaker, Ashton Beecher, Caliana Beecher, Lucas Mitchell, Kinlsley Kurche .

Paul was born in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn and raised in an apartment above his family's jewelry store. As kids, he and his older brother Johnny spent hours playing and watching baseball games - a passion that would endure throughout his life. At age 16, Paul attended tryouts for the Brooklyn Dodgers and was even offered a spot in the minor leagues. However, it was his passion for machinery that eventually became his vocation. He apprenticed under his father, and became a Master Watchmaker.

In time, Paul became a Machinist for the Burroughs Corporation and then an Engineer for AIL Cutler Hammer. During his 38 years at AIL Cutler Hammer, he was granted Top Secret Clearance and was credited with 2 patents for Gallium Arsenide Semiconductors which were used on the B1 Bomber as well as many other critical military electronic devices. After he retired in 1995, he went back to his roots in watches and clocks with his watchmakers/machinist shop in his home. He often made house calls to repair grandfather clocks throughout Long Island.

In 1942, when Paul was 12 years old, he met the love of his life, Rosemary, in Southold, NY where both of their families had summer homes. When Paul enlisted in the military during the Korean War, the two stayed in touch. Faith was a guiding light for the young couple. While stationed in Germany, Paul converted to Catholicism. In 1954, Paul was honorably discharged from the Army. Upon returning to the States, now a newly baptized Catholic, he promptly married his sweetheart Rosemary.

They began raising their family in Queens Village, then moved to Fairless Hills, Pennsylvania and finally settled in Commack in 1959. Paul became an active member of the community. Still passionate about the game, he mentored many young men as a manager for his sons' Commack South baseball teams in the 70's and 80's.

Paul attended daily mass and was very active in Christ the King Parish where he served as a Eucharistic Minister, Member of the Holy Name Society, Nocturnal Adoration and a 4th Degree Member of the Father Foley Knights of Columbus. Both he and Rosemary received the St. Agnes Medal for distinguished service to the Diocese of Rockville Centre by Bishop Murphy in 2015.

Paul will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great–grandfather, and a warm, steady paragon of faith who set an example for those who knew and loved him.
