Paul W. Blair, age 84, of Morehead, passed away Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Pioneer Trace Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Flemingsburg.

Born January 13, 1941, in Lexington, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Dr. Everett D. Blair and Mary Jo Wilson Blair. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Dr. Donald E. Blair and Alta Stone Blair.

Paul is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Suanne Hower Blair; a sister-in-law, Lewjean (Rick) Holmes of Seattle, Washington; many nieces and nephews; and several dear friends who were like family to him.

During Paul's distinguished career as an attorney, he served as Morehead City Attorney and Morehead Utility Plant Board Attorney and advised numerous civic organizations in reaching their goals. He was one of the founding members of the 21st Judicial District Public Defender Corporation, helping ensure that everyone received the representation they needed. Paul also served for many years as counsel for Citizens Bank and worked tirelessly on projects that strengthened and improved the Morehead community. He will be remembered as a trusted advisor and a mentor to many young attorneys beginning their careers.

At Paul's request, there will be no public visitation or funeral service. Private graveside services will be held Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Caudill Cemetery on Stork Street, Morehead, KY 40351.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Paul's legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched, the community he helped strengthen, and the many young attorneys he guided along the way. His kindness, integrity, and dedication will continue to inspire all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cave Run Symphony Orchestra, P. O. Box 441, Morehead, KY 40351.
