Paul Michael Buonarosa, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away surrounded by family and love on Sunday, September 21, 2025 in Sarasota, FL.

Born in Pittsburgh, PA, June 10, 1934, Paul grew up with strong family values and a warm sense of humor that carried through his entire life. As a U.S. Marine, he proudly served his country from 1954-1956. In 1957, he met the love of his life, Mary Margot "Maggie" Pesta, a dedicated nurse, on a blind date-a spark that grew into a marriage of more than 65 years. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and deep devotion.

Paul dedicated more than 30 years of his professional life to the chemical coatings industry, working for various corporations where he was admired for his strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to connect with others. His career not only reflected his knowledge and commitment, but also his pride in providing for his family and setting an example of dedication.

After years of raising their family in Pittsburgh, PA, Paul and Maggie retired to the Sarasota, Florida area in 2002, where they enjoyed the sunshine, community, and each other's company. They cherished adventures together including visiting Italy often, cruising, exploring the U.S., and celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary in Ireland.

Paul is preceded in death by his father, John J. Buonarosa, and his mother, Concetta Buonarosa. He is survived by his loving wife Maggie; their three daughters, Michele Lewis, Mary Lynn Buonarosa, and Lisa Buonarosa; three granddaughters, Melissa Rice (Connor), Rebekah and Reina Spiegelman; and three cherished great-grandchildren, Elias, Ezekiel, and Emelina Rice.

To those who knew him, Paul will be remembered for his devotion to the Pittsburgh Steelers, passion for music, warmth of spirit, and the way his smile lit up every room. His legacy of love and family endures in the generations who follow.

A celebration of Paul's life will be held at Light of the World International Church in Sarasota at a future date and a private burial at the Sarasota National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Affinity Care of Sarasota or a charity of your choosing.
