Paul H. Byers, 68, of West Newton, passed peacefully on August 10th 2025. Born in McKeesport, May 10th 1957, a son of the late W. Herbert Byers and Joyce (Veblun) Byers.

Paul is remembered for his humor, sarcasm, and love of family and friends. He enjoyed tinkering with anything electronic, loved MG cars and his '63 Plymouth Sport Fury lovingly known as "Minnie".

Volunteering and supporting the communities around him was something Paul was passionate about. Achieving EMT and Paramedic certifications in his earlier life he "ran" with McKeesport Ambulance Service (MEMS), as well as White Oak Rescue. As one of the original 14 founding members for White Oak EMS, Paul always had betterment of the community on his mind.

Interest in electronics started with Paul at a young age, an avid member of the ham radio operator community with his call sign of N3LQE. Always wanting to combine humor with his hobbies, he loved to tell the story of how he received a fine from the FCC for messing with two of their employees over the radio after he discovered they were online. Paul helped establish Westmoreland Amateur Radio Service (W.E.A.R.S) and was an active board member. Paul is now a "Silent Key"

In his adopted town, he was instrumental in the development of West Newton Emergency Management. Serving as an elected Constable of the 1st Ward, he worked to ensure the safety of polling places on election day.

Surviving Paul are his wife of 43 years Dannette (Moran) Byers; son, Jordan Byers (Kaitlyn Slack) of South Lebanon, OH.; sister, Victoria (Byers) Watkins; brothers-in-law, Jerome Moran and William Budd, Sr.; and beloved neighbor and friend, Melanie Castellana. He also has many nieces and nephews who he loved dearly and left behind.

Preceding him in death were his parents and brother David William Byers.

There will be no public viewing, but all friends and family are welcome to come and share the joy he brought in a celebration of his life August 23, 2025 from 2-6 p.m. at West Newton Lions Club: 507 Pittsburgh St. West Newton, PA 15089
