LIMA -- Paul Lee Clemens, age 90, was called to his Heavenly Home on July 31, 2025, at 8:41 am, at Mercy Health - St. Rita's Medical Center.
Paul was born on August 20, 1934, in Lima, OH, to Paul Leo and Nellie A. (Pritchard) Clemens, who preceded him in death.
Paul served his country in the U.S. Army as a specialist in El Paso, TX, where he taught rockets and rocket guidance. He worked at IBM as a Senior Systems Engineer Specialist for 32 years before he retired. After his retirement, he continued doing independent consulting for Copeland in Sidney. He was a life-long 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason at both the St. Mary's and Lima chapters. He was elected several times as The Worthy Grand Patron of the Order of the Eastern Star.
He lived a very active life, often going to Bradfield Community Center, the Senior Center, or the YMCA to play pickleball, ping pong, and volleyball. Paul and his friends from Shawnee United Methodist enjoyed riding their motorcycles all around the country. He was one of the group members who started the Blessing of the Bikes at Shawnee United Methodist in 2001. Paul loved spending time with his grandchildren and taking them to parks and museums. Paul impacted many people's lives, and he will be missed dearly.
He is survived by his son, Paul Clemens of Lima, OH, his daughter, Melissa Nash of Brookshire, TX, and his grandchildren: Courtney Lee Clemens, Caleb Tristan Douglas, Jacob Paul Clemens, Skylar Madison Nash and Aaden Stephen Nash.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant sister, Mary Clemens.
Services will be held on Sunday, August 3, 2025, at 6:00 PM at Shawnee United Methodist Church. Pastor Lori Wright to officiate the service. A private burial will be held at Shawnee Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 3, 2025, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the church.
