Paul R. Collett, of Waltham, died on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at the Odd Fellows home in Worcester. He was 74.
Paul was born in Cambridge on July 31, 1950, a son of the late Paul and Helen (Hingey) Collett. He was raised and educated in Waltham before joining the United States Marine Corps and serving honorably during the Vietnam War.
During his career he worked for Newton Cemetery Corporation and also worked for area Ford dealerships including MainStreet Ford and Natick Ford.
He married Pauline Maffiola on July 17, 1982 and the couple made Waltham their home where they raised their daughter and enjoyed many happy years together until Pauline’s passing in 2021. He also loved the outdoors and enjoyed family trips taking the camper on vacations to Carver.
In addition to his wife Pauline M. (Maffiola) Collett, he was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Helen Collett, and his siblings, Jerome, Brian, Norman, Eugene and Helen Collett.
He is survived by his daughter, Colleen E. Collett of Marlborough; his grandchildren, Nicholas Collett and Natalia Collett; his siblings, Cynthia Mongeon of Pembroke, Georgia, Leta Reale of St. Petersburg, Florida, William Collett of Natick and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Family and friends will honor and remember Paul‘s life by gathering for a morning wake in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Friday, August 30th from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
Burial with military honors will be held on Wednesday, September 4th at 11:15 a.m. in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
