Paul E. Dominiak ("Ike"), passed away on October 25, 2024, at Nathan Littauer Hospital, with his family by his side.
He was born in Amsterdam NY, the son of the late Cecelia Subik & Stephen Dominiak; resided in Johnstown all his life; graduated from Johnstown Schools and enlisted in the U.S. Navy serving in the Radio Control Room on the USS Hailey. Upon returning home Ike earned his Associates Degree from Hudson Valley Community College. He was employed, for most of his career, at Beech Nut Nutrition Corp. in Canajoharie. In retirement Ike enjoyed time spent travelling to Cape Cod, country dancing with friends and relaxing at the lake. Above all he treasured the time spent with his family.
Ike was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Annie Hladik Dominiak. In addition to his wife, Ike is survived by his daughter JoAnne Buyce (Michael); and sons Stephen (Genevieve Couser); and Richard; grandchildren Katie Elhindi (Moty); Emily Dominiak (Brendan Woodruff) and Genevieve Dominiak; Lauren Dominiak and Lynnae Zampella (Matthew), as well as his great grandsons Joseph and Aiden Elhindi.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at 1:00 PM at the Holy Trinity Church, 205 Glebe Street, Johnstown, NY.
Calling hours for family and friends will be held prior to the service at the church from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM.
Interment will immediately follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery, Johnstown, with military honors.
For those wishing to make a memorial contribution the family suggests the Alzheimer's Association, 1003 New Loudon Rd, Ste 201, Cohoes NY 12047.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the A.G. Cole Funeral Home, 215 E. Main Street, Johnstown, NY.
