PAUL DUMOUCHEL Obituary

DUMOUCHEL, Paul Of Wellesley, MA, passed peacefully, on September 9, 2023, surrounded by family, after a brief hospitalization. Paul was preceded in death by his father, Antoine and mother, Gabrielle; sister, Gertrude of New Mexico; and brother, Robert of the Bahamas. He is survived by his sister, Claire of Maine; and his wife of 29 years, Mary Dziejma Dumouchel. He is also survived by his four children and their spouses, Lucille Curry of Millis, MA and her husband, Michael, Mark Dumouchel of Milford, MA and his wife, Linda, David Dumouchel of Boxford, MA and his wife, Jennifer; and his daughter, Diane Morrison of Bedford NH and her husband, Dean. Paul also leaves behind thirteen grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Paul attended the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and married his classmate, Eileen Kelly Dumouchel in 1954. He also attended Tufts University, and served in the military stationed in San Antonio, where his first child, Lucille, was born. Upon discharge from the Army, he and Eileen purchased the Strand Pharmacy in Dorchester, MA and grew the business to the thirteen store Eaton Apothecary chain in the greater Boston area. Paul was extremely proud of his chosen profession and was heavily involved in professional associations at the local, state and national level, serving as president of the Boston Druggists Association, the Massachusetts State Pharmaceutical Association and the National Association of Retail Druggists. He was a consultant to the boards of numerous pharmaceutical manufacturing companies. He was an active member of the Wellesley community, including Little League coach and a long time member and past president of the Wellesley Kiwanis Club. Visiting Hours will be held at the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 477 Washington St. (Rt.16), WELLESLEY, on Sunday, September 17, from 4 to 7pm. His Funeral Mass will be held in St. Paul's Church, 502 Washington St., Wellesley, on Monday, September 18, at 10am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Interment in Woodlawn Cemetery, Wellesley. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Paul's memory to the MCPHS University Scholarship Fund, 179 Longwood Ave., Boston, MA 02115. Online guestbook, at gfdoherty.com George F.
