Paul L. Ellinger, 70, of Syracuse, New York, passed away peacefully in his home on December 26, 2023. He was born on June 21,1953, in Syracuse, New York. Paul served in the US Marine Corps and worked as a Crane Operator at Crucible Steel for 43 years.
Paul was preceded in death by his father Thomas Ellinger Sr., mother Jeanette Ellinger, sister Mary, and brother Mark Ellinger.
Paul is survived by his loving wife of 45 years Kathleen, and their children, Mary (Nicholas Bianchi Jr.), Eric (Monica) Ellinger, and Paul Ellinger. He is also survived by his brothers, Thomas Ellinger ,Jr. Joe (Cindy) Ellinger, Patrick (Tami) Ellinger, Max (Theresa) Ellinger, Gus Ellinger, and sisters Theresa (David) Villanueva, Kathleen (Eddie) Labulis, and Helen (Mike) Frasciello. Paul was a proud grandfather to 6 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held at Whelan Bros & Hulchanski Funeral Home, 5854 Belle Isle Road, Syracuse, NY 13209 on December 30, 2023 from 12:00-2:00 pm with a service to follow at 2:00pm.
Contributions may be made to Wounded Warriors Project, P.O. Box 75816, Topeka, Kansas, 66675-8516.

My sincere condolences to family and friends. I was fortunate enough to have worked with Paul at Crucible. Even though it was for only 2 years he was the type of person that it was a pleasure to have worked with Paul. He was extremely proficient in all aspects of his job and was always there to help out anyone in need. RIP Paul.

Kathy and family, I'm so shocked and heartbroken for the loss of Paul. I have so many early fun memories of us all. He was always one of the good guys. I'm sorry I am unable to attend the services due to work but my condolences, thoughts and prayers are with you all. So sorry for your loss.
