Paul John Gephart, age 61, of Lakeville, MN passed away peacefully January 12, 2025, at home surrounded by his family.
Paul was born and raised in Lakeville, MN and proudly lived there all of his life. He was affectionately known as 'Little Dude' to his dad and family. Paul attended UMD for one year before attending Brown Institute and eventually found himself back in the family furniture business, Gephart Furniture. Paul then continued his career in the furniture business working for Hom Furniture and managing Mattress Superstore.
Paul's favorite thing was to be on his pontoon, known as the Funtoon, on Lake Marion with his wife 'Toes' and friends listening to his favorites; Van Halen, Jimmy Buffet, Sammy Hagar, and enjoying a cold one. He also loved going to the Twins games. It was at one of those games that he proposed to the love of his life 'Toesers.'
When it wasn't lake season Paul enjoyed going to the MN Vikings games. Paul's love of the Vikings started when he was a kid going to games at the Met Stadium with his family and later to the Dome with his brother and his best friend Mitch.
Paul loved to get away from the cold going anywhere from Cabo to The Keys with friends and spent many winters going to the Bahamas with Meredith and her loud 'Van Halen' family. A tradition that was started by Paul's mother-in-law Terry when she took the entire Reisinger family to the Bahamas for the first time – a tradition that continued for many years.
Paul is preceded in death by his parents Leonard (Lenny) and Roselyn 'Rosie' (McDonald), sister Diane, infant brother Raymond, father and mother in-law Gene and Terry Reisinger, brothers-in-law Kurt and Mike and sisters-in-law Sue and Michele.
Paul will forever be remembered and greatly missed by his loving wife of 21 years Meredith (Reisinger), Brother; Lenny (Sandy), Sister; Katherine 'Kate' Johnson, Sisters-in-law; Cathy 'Katie Oaks,' Myra (Ricky), Brothers-in-law; Buck (Carolyn), Jeff (Julie), Godchildren; niece Hannah Rose Johnson and nephew Jack Johnson, nieces and nephews; Melissa (Brad), Michael (Katie), Maria (Lucas), Lisa (Don), Joe (Rachael), Chad, Reed, Jayson (Phil), Cole (Jeanna), Nick, Kirsty (Kyle), Kylea (Andrew), Hannah, Christopher and many great-nieces and nephews, family, and amazing friends.
Special thanks to Olivia and staff at MN Hospice in Lakeville, all of Paul and Meredith's family and their amazing friends.
A gathering for Paul's family and friends will be Wednesday, January 29, 2025, from 4 – 7pm at White's Funeral Home, Lakeville, MN.
Paul will also be celebrated this summer at the lake. Details TBD.
