Paul L. Gilbert, 95, of Duncannon, passed away peacefully in his home on January 13, 2026.

Born in Green Lane, PA, he was the ninth of twelve children born to the late A. Howard and Catherine "Katie" (Zepp) Gilbert.

Paul graduated from East Greenville High School and served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict aboard the USS Missouri. He was married to the late Eleanor M. (Buss) Gilbert for 63 years. He was also preceded in death by eight brothers and three sisters.

Paul is survived by his sons, Troy (Lisa) and Darren (Shannon), with whom he lived, and his best friend and only grandson, Kyle. He is also survived by his step granddaughters, Courtney (Ryan) and Chloe and two step great grandchildren, Lyndi and Nash; nieces, Holly and Nancy and their mother, Bea, with whom he was very close; his best girl, Margie, and his beloved pup, Brie.

Paul retired from Buckeye Partners after 43 years of service. He and his family moved to Duncannon in 1977 from Ringoes, NJ. Paul was known for his woodworking skills; his hand-turned bowls were his passion and he loved giving them to everyone. He volunteered in Newport at the Bread of Life Outreach (BOLO) for years, kept the Appalachian Trail hikers stocked with snacks at the Duncannon Post Office; and was a member of the Journey Christian Church in Thompsontown, as well as the James G. Zimmerman American Legion Post #340 and V.F.W. Post #255, both in Duncannon.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family from 4:00 to 5:30 P.M. on Wednesday January 28, 2026 at the Ronald C.L. Smith Funeral Home, 325 N. High Street, Duncannon, followed by his memorial service at 5:30 P.M. with Pastor Jerry Wise, officiating. Interment will private and at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Paul's name can be made to BOLO, Journey Christian Church, James G. Zimmerman American Legion Post #340 or V.F.W. Post #255.
