GOAD, JR., Paul Parker, of Mt. Juliet, passed away on March 1, 2024.
Paul was a loving husband, father, uncle, brother and grandfather. He proudly served in the Navy from 1962-1966 as an E-5; if you asked him what his job was, he would say he was the " Tough Task Master". He graduated from The University of Tennessee, Knoxville with a bachelor's degree in accounting. Paul worked as IT Manager at Rand McNally, Chicago, IL and Nashville, TN, and later as a Project Manager and Consultant for a number of firms; a career that spanned over 40 years. Paul formerly attended The Barn Church, where he adopted their Bylaws and established them as a 501 (C)(3) non-profit status! He currently attended Bakers Grove Baptist Church, he loved his church family and worshiping the Lord. Paul was an incredible man, who loved to be in charge! He enjoyed his old Chevy Silverado, yard work, computer work, cooking, and debating with telemarketers on the phone! Paul was a kind and loving soul who will truly be missed by all his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Wilma Goad, Sr.; brother, Bill Goad; sister, Ellen Gammon; and son, Paul Goad, III. He is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Cindy Goad; children, Jamie Syes and Heather (Joseph) Weaver; siblings, Betty (Ronnie) Crick and Jerry Ramsey; grandchildren, Brandon Goad, Brittany (Brandi) Goad, Rebecca Goad, Austin Weaver, Cynthia Syes, Brooke Weaver, and Jessica Syes; 4 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends; and beloved cats, Sabrina and Fuzzy.
The Visitation will be held on Monday, March 11th from 5-8pm (CST) and again on Tuesday, March 12th from 10am-11am (CST) at Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet, Tennessee. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, March 12th at 11am (CST) with Dr. Van Richmond officiating at Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet, Tennessee.
