Paul Guza, age 77, of Minneota, Minnesota, died on Sunday, April 13, 2025, at the Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Paul’s celebration of life will be held on his birthday, Tuesday, May 27, 2025. Memorial Services are at 2:00 p.m. at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Marshall. The public is also invited to a Rosary that will begin at 12:30 p.m. followed by a visitation from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m., both held at the Hamilton Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to donor's choice.
Paul Julian Guza was born on May 27, 1947, in Marshall, Minnesota. He was the son of Max and Ilean (Driessens) Guza. Paul was baptized, received his first communion, and was also confirmed in the Catholic faith. He attended school in Minneota and later Taunton, Minnesota.
On August 6, 1976, Paul was united in marriage to Susan Matthys in Brookings, South Dakota. The couple made their home in Hendricks and Walnut Grove before settling into Minneota in 1983. They raised three children and spent over 48 years of marriage together.
Paul drove truck for many years before beginning his own wood finishing business. In recent years, Paul found himself back on the road again as he enjoyed seeing the whole country over his many miles. His other enjoyments in life included baseball, football, especially the Dallas Cowboys, fishing, his dogs, and spending time with his family which was his pride and joy, especially a game of Uno with his grandchildren.
Paul Guza died on Sunday, April 13, 2025, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He reached the age of 77 years, 10 months, and 17 days. Blessed be his memory.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Guza of Minneota; 3 children, Stacey Guza of St. Peter, Callie Guza of Fulda, Wade (Nickel) Guza of Pearland, TX; 11 grandchildren, Jacob (and Lexie), Emily, Sarah, Lindsey, Ashten, Holdyn, Sierra, Liberty, Cooper, Nash, Jasper; 3 great-grandchildren, Lucas, Layla, Mari; 4 siblings, Louis (and Babara) Red Rock of, TX, Bernice (and Doug) Olson of Bonner Springs, KS, Diann (and Doug) Landsman of Tyler, Dennis (and Becky) Guza of Lynd; his yellow lab, Bo; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Max and Ilean Guza, and a brother, Mike Guza.
