Paul Hudson Harman

Paul Hudson Harman, 87, of Selbyville, Delaware, passed away on December 27, 2025, where he resided for the past 21 years with his beloved wife of 62 years, Bernice Harman.

Paul was born to Hudson and Mae Harman on February 18, 1938 in Nuremberg, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Rock Glen High School in 1955. Following high school, Paul proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 4 years. After his military service, he pursued higher education at Bloomsburg State College, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education. He later received his Master of Education (MEd) degree from Loyola College in Baltimore, Maryland.

Paul dedicated his professional life to education, shaping young minds with commitment and care. He retired from Fallston High School (Harford County, Maryland) in 1997 after 35 years of service as a respected educator.

Paul was a true family man at heart. Nothing brought him greater joy than being surrounded by those he loved most, whether it was playing games, fishing together, singing karaoke, or proudly cheering from the sidelines at his sons and grandchildren's sporting events. His love for his family was constant, deep and the center of his life.

Paul was a member of St. Luke Catholic Church in Ocean City, Maryland. He was a long-time member of American Legion Post 0039 in Bel Air, Md, The Sons and Daughters of Italy and The Polish American Club of Ocean City, MD. He was also a 3rd Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus in Ocean City, MD.

A true embodiment of Maryland culture, he especially loved spending his free time golfing, enjoying music, cracking Maryland blue crabs, and watching the Ravens and Orioles. These passions brought him great joy and connected him deeply to family, friends, and his community.

Paul is survived by his loving wife, Bernice Harman; his two sons, Paul Harman (Caroline) and Jeff Harman (Dawn); his five grandchildren, Alexandra Myers (Brody), Samantha Harman, Brendan Harman, Lily Harman, and Brady Harman; and his cherished great-grandson, Hudson Myers.

Paul will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his service to his country, and his lifelong commitment to education. His legacy lives on through the many lives he touched as a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, veteran, and teacher.

A memorial mass will be held on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at 11:00 AM at St. Luke's Catholic Church in Ocean City, MD.

I am saddened to hear of Paul´s passing. I worked with Paul at FHS and became good friends through those years. I have many fond memories of our friendship. He indeed was a deeply devoted family man. He was proud of the accomplishments of his sons and of his marriage to his wife Bernice. Of the many memories I have of my friendship with Paul, this is one that will always remain with me. It was of the St Patricks day parties he had after school at his house. Bernice would make the most amazing corn beef and cabbage dinner which we all enjoyed immensely. Me, Paul, Vinny, Jim and others would then enjoy playing darts, enjoying Irish beer all the while listening to Irish music. Great times.
Miss you Paul. May you rest in peace. And to Paul´s family, may you gain strength in Your memories and your wonderful life with Paul.

America thanks you for your service to our country in the defense of freedom. The final volley has sounded and taps is about to begin, ending a successful career as a nation´s defender. Have a smooth flight airman.
