Paul R. Hodgson, a lifelong resident of Massillon, passed away on March 23, 2026.
Born to the late Roger and Beverly Hodgson, Paul graduated from Massillon Washington High School in 1967, where he was a proud letterman on the Tiger Shark swim team. He went on to dedicate 32 years of hard work to Ohio Edison before his retirement.
A lifelong sports enthusiast, Paul was both a fierce competitor and a devoted fan. He stayed active playing adult league hockey, baseball, fumble ball, and volleyball. He also gave back to his community by coaching and mentoring young athletes in youth hockey, baseball, football and soccer. An avid Massillon Tiger fan, Paul served as a past chairman of the Tiger Sideliners and was a season ticket holder for over 40 years. His passion for sports extended to his beloved Michigan Wolverines, whom he loved watchingwhether it was at the Big House or on TV - Go Blue!
Above all else, Paul's greatest pride and joy were his children and grandchildren. He loved spending time with them, watching them compete in their favorite sports, whenever he was able, and helping out at the Cole's farm. He found his greatest peace and happiness fishing in Canada with family and friends, and sitting on the beach in Holland, Michigan. In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his in-laws, Bernie and Eunice Ott, his brothers-in-laws, Danny Ott and Don Herron, and his niece, Christina Herron.
Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of nearly 55 years, Nancy (Ott) Hodgson, his children, Brett (Laura) Hodgson and Kelly (James) Cole, and his treasured grandchildren, Wells and Lindy Hodgson, and Brady and Bentley Cole. He is also survived by his sister, Tonya (Lee) Stuck, sister-in-law Kathleen Herron, nephew, David (Stephanie) Stuck, and great-nephews, Dominick and Theo Stuck.
Per Paul's wishes, there will be no services at this time. A celebration of Life will be held at a later date to honor his memory.
