Mr. Paul "Cowboy" Holloway, age 56, of Hampton died Wednesday, November 3rd, 2021 surrounded by his family and friends.
Paul was born on September 16, 1965 in Atlanta, Georgia to John Paul and Karon Holloway. John Paul gave Paul the nickname of "Cowboy" in his childhood and the name stuck with him throughout his life. Before he was even legally able to drive, he followed in his family's footsteps and began his dirt track racing hobby. This became a major part of his life and created many lasting friendships and memories made. When he wasn't racing, he could be found at the "Old Homeplace" with family and friends causing a lot of trouble and doing a little bit of hunting. Him and his son enjoyed many memorable weekends together cooking, hunting, and telling stories around the fire. Cowboy worked in construction from the time he started working and always believed in seeing the job through. He loved his children and taught them to be the people they are today. His life was fulfilled and forever changed when he became known as "PawPaw" to his grandbabies.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John Paul "Bill" and Karon Holloway. He is survived by his wife, Deidre Armistead Holloway, his children: Nicole (Michael) Bass, Mark (Liz) Burdick, and Amanda Wilson (Stephen Wines), Kaydee (Thomas) Boswell; his grandchildren: Tara Wheeler, Payton Burdick, Khloe Bass, Emmarie Grace and Oliva Kate Boswell; sister Paula (Russell) Whipple; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and close friends that became family over the years.
Services for Paul Holloway will be held at Moody-Daniel Funeral Home on Saturday, November 6th. Visitation will be from 2-4pm with the service immediately to follow at 4p.m. A graveside service will follow at Fincher Memorial Cemetery in Meansville.
