Paul Wayne Howells

Paul Wayne Howells Mr. Paul Howells passed away on Thursday January 8, 2026, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. He was seventy-seven years old. Mr. Howells was born and raised in Somerville and attended Somerville High School. He joined the United States Army and was stationed in Washington State and later served in Korea. Mr. Howells served our country faithfully and was honorably discharged. He remained in Washington State for a few years before moving back to New Jersey.
Mr. Howell resided in Somerville and Rutherford before moving to the Griggstown section of Franklin Township where he has resided for the last forty years.
He had a lengthy career as a carpenter. He was employed by the Bongiovi family at Powerstation, now the Berkeley School of Music, in Manhattan, where he was responsible for building their iconic recording studios. He was more recently employed by Tony Latronka General Contracting from which he retired. He spent endless hours transforming his home in Girggstown from a small cape to a sprawling colonial home with fine detailed work.
In his free time, Mr. Howell enjoyed camping and traveling in his RV. He was also a model train enthusiast and entertaining guests at his home for pool parties and other get togethers.
Mr. Howells is survived by his wife, Ulrike Howells. He is also survived by his siblings Sharon Ann Thompson and her husband James and Edward Howells and his wife Sharon Ann Murphy along with a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
Visiting will take place from 2-5 PM on Sunday January 18, 2025, at Gleason Funeral Home 1360 Hamilton Street in Somerset. A funeral service will take place at 4 PM at the funeral home and all other services will conclude at the funeral home.
