Age 62 of New Lenox, IL passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 4, 2025 as the result of a motorcycle accident. Paul was surrounded in love by family who fought by his side as he rode into the arms of the Lord.
Paul was born May 11, 1963 in Joliet, IL to the late Frank and Mary (nee Wilhelmi) Jast. He grew up in New Lenox, IL, attended St. Jude’s School and graduated from Lincoln-Way Central in 1982.
Beloved brother of Raymond (M.L.) Jast; the late Marianne (Robert) Been; Ginger (late Steve) Longshore; Karen Olson; and John (Julie) Jast. He was the “Cool Uncle" to all his nieces and nephews. He was a dear cousin, neighbor, and friend to many including his second family of biker friends and close, lifelong classmates.
Paul worked for ComEd, Culligan, and in later years became a Local 150 Operator. Paul enjoyed riding his motorcycles and spending time with family and friends. He was a protector and always stood up for himself and what he believed in. To many, Paul was known for his humor and quick wit. We will miss that mischievous smile and he will be missed by all who knew and loved him. In his passing, Paul chose the selfless gift of organ donation. We know this is not the end and we will ride together again.
Paul left this world doing what he loved and so the family asks those with bikes to participate in escorting Paul on his final ride Home on Saturday beginning at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to local first responders.
The family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel 102 E. Francis Rd, New Lenox, IL on Friday, October 10, 2025, from 3 PM – 8 PM. Funeral services will be on Saturday, October 11, 2025, with prayers at the funeral home at 9:15 AM then to St. Jude’s Catholic Church, New Lenox, IL for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM.
