Paul H. Jenkins, 82, of Scottsdale, AZ (as well as several prior homes in Wisconsin, California, Illinois and Michigan), passed away peacefully at home with his loved ones at his side on Monday, February 12, 2024. Paul was the beloved widower of Sandy Bennett Jenkins, with whom he shared 58 years of marriage.
Born in Detroit, Michigan on December 14, 1941 to Jewell and Aileen Jenkins, Paul spent his entire career in sales. From men's clothing to office equipment, business accounting solutions, computers and tax services, regardless of the product or service, Paul was always a sales leader. Outside of work, Paul was an active leader in his community. He was the youngest person to serve as Exalted Ruler at his Elk's Lodge. He was a tireless supporter and fundraiser for United Cerebral Palsy. He was also active in his church as a lector, Eucharistic minister, men's club member, school board member, and any other task he could assist with. Having been raised in his father's bowling alleys, Paul was an accomplished bowler from childhood into his 50's. He was also an avid golfer.
Paul is survived by his children Mark Jenkins (Linda LaFontaine), Maplewood, MN and Michelle Caldwell (Peter Caldwell), Scottsdale, AZ, grandchildren Bennett Caldwell and Kaley Caldwell, brothers Tom Jenkins (Barb Guenther) and Richard Jenkins (Liz Tofte) and his special lady in later life, Sam Oldenburg. He is preceded in death by his parents Jewell and Aileen Jenkins, brother John Jenkins (Karla Jenkins), and his wife Sandy Jenkins.
Paul was an eternal optimist who never let obstacles or challenges get him down. Even when he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer at 81, he stuck firm to his mantra of "it is what it is", and committed to beat it. Through chemotherapy, major surgery and recovery, he never waivered in his optimism and positive attitude. His positivity continued when the cancer returned and spread aggressively.
Paul's Celebration of Life will begin with a visitation at 10:30 am followed by a short scripture service at 11:00 am on Monday, March 4, 2024 at Saint Patrick's Catholic Community, 10815 North 84th Street, Scottsdale, AZ 85260. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Saint Patrick's (StPatCC.org), Sandy and Paul's faith community, or the charity of your choice.

What can one say about the passing of a Father, of an Uncle, of a Brother? The more I age, and the more experience I have with life, and with death, the more I see the legacy that was lived, and instilled within those of us who are left behind.
Uncle Paul's Good, and his Love, they live on in his Family. This is the Legacy that my Dad always talked about with me, yet I am only just starting to understand. My condolences to both of you Mark and Michelle, (and to you too Uncles Rich and Tom). Loosing your Dad / Brother creates a lasting hole in your heart... which sometimes manifests as wishes for more connection, for opportunities missed. However, even today, years after losing my Dad, I find a soothing through seeing parts of his life in me... (sometimes by the startling realisation that the guy in the mirror looks an awful lot like him!). And I know you will see the Good that Uncle Paul left in you too.
With all sincerity and love,
Your cousin,
James
