Paul Kruder Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Caring Cremations - Chicago on Mar. 18, 2026.
Paul Brian Kruder, 54, of Flossmoor, Illinois, passed away on March 15, 2026.

Born on April 26, 1971, in Hawaii, Paul lived a life defined by strength, humor, and unwavering dedication to the people he loved. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps for four years, achieving the rank of Corporal. During his time stationed in Okinawa, he built one-of-a-kind friendships and carried those memories with him, often speaking of them with pride and fondness.

Following his military service, Paul became a highly skilled elevator mechanic, known for his intelligence, work ethic, and natural leadership. He took great pride in his work and earned the respect of those around him through both his skill and his character.

Above all else, Paul was a devoted father. He is survived by his daughters, Caitlyn and Elizabeth Kruder, who were the center of his world. He loved them deeply and completely, always showing up with generosity and a willingness to do anything for them. His love was constant, selfless, and deeply felt.

Paul will be remembered for his sharp wit and unmistakable sense of humor. He was reliable, strong, hardworking, and endlessly giving, but he was also blunt, sarcastic, and never one to sugarcoat anything. He spoke his mind and told things exactly how he saw them. But those who truly knew him understood that underneath that rough exterior was someone deeply loyal and quietly kind. If you listened past the tone, you heard someone who cared more than he let on.

He loved to say, "play stupid games, win stupid prizes," and lived with that same straightforward honesty.

He also had a soft spot that those closest to him knew well. He adored his pets, Lucy, his dog, and Farrah, a cat he once claimed he never wanted but ultimately rescued and gave a life full of care and love. That quiet compassion reflected who he truly was.

In honoring his wishes, Paul will be cremated, and his ashes will be transformed into diamonds for his daughters; a lasting symbol of the love he carried for them.

A service will be held at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery on March 26, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.

Paul's life was one of strength, humor, complexity, and deep love. He will be profoundly missed and forever remembered by those who knew and loved him. He made an impact that will not be forgotten.
