Paul Alan Kubicek, age 72, of Grand Haven, passed away at home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, July 2, 2025. He was born on June 1, 1953, in Grand Haven, Michigan, to the late Albert and Irene (Wiebenga) Kubicek.
Paul married Jill (Wilson) Kubicek on August 12, 1978, in Grand Haven. She preceded him in death on March 2, 2023, after 44 years of marriage.
Paul graduated from Grand Haven High School, Class of 1971. He then went on to graduate from Central Michigan University with his LMSW degree. He spent his career working as a school Psychologist for Ottawa Area Intermediate School District (OAISD) and Coopersville Area Public Schools until his retirement.
Paul was very active in the Sons of the American Legion Post 28 where he was awarded Son of the Year for the State of Michigan. He was also very active in the V.F.W. in Grand Haven, along with numerous other local organizations. He enjoyed playing softball, recreational basketball, and playing golf for the V.F.W. Golf League. Paul also enjoyed time in the pool with his family and grandkids, gardening and dilling veggies, cooking, singing karaoke, and spending time at Disney with family and friends. Paul is most remembered for his charismatic personality and as someone who loved meeting new people and could talk to just about anyone.
Paul will be forever remembered and missed by his two children, Samantha (Travis) DeWys and Zakary (Nicole) Kubicek; four beloved grandchildren: Isabella, Keira, Lily, and Parker; two sisters, Sharon (James) Angel and Gail (Tom) Adams; his brother, John (Nancy) Kubicek; his significant other, Sharon MacConnach; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The Funeral Service for Paul will take place at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at All Shores Wesleyan Church, with Pastor E.J. Wood officiating. Visitations will be held on Wednesday, July 9th, from 5-8 p.m. at Klaassen Family Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church. Interment will be at Grand Haven Township Lakeshore Cemetery.

So sorry for your loss to family and friends.
Paul was pretty good at whatever he did. Softball, Basketball, Karaoke. Played softball for about a dozen years with Paul. We were even involved with a triple play. Have a lot of memories from floating down rivers with the crew. Good times.
Hope the good memories will last forever for all who mourn.

So sorry to hear about Paul´s passing. I have known him since 7th grade. Ran into him a couple of times one time at a concert we were both there watching are granddaughter´s performance it was so good to see him. The last time I saw him he was leaving and I was bringing my brother in for a treatment he was an awesome guy so glad I was able to get a hug from him.
