Paul Wayne Lampley, age 79, of Buckner, Illinois passed away at 6:04 P.M. Monday, October 7, 2024 at his home.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at the Masonic & Odd Fellows Cemetery in Benton with Pastor Andy Lee officiating. Family and Friends are asked to meet at the cemetery on Wednesday for the Graveside service. Military Rites will be conducted by the Benton American Legion & VFW Posts. Arrangements are with Morton & Johnston Funeral Home of Benton.
Paul was born on June 20, 1945 in West Frankfort, the son of Andy Lampley and Gertrude Ellen (McCann) Lampley. Paul married the former Diana A. Young on September 23, 1967 in Coello, Illinois, they shared 57 years of marriage and Diana survives.
Mr. Lampley was interested in Native American culture and genealogy of his family. In the past Paul was a Missionary in Honduras and involved in Disaster Control rebuilding houses. Paul was a former Bricklayer and Police Officer for Benton, Illinois.
Paul always loved talking to people, he knew no strangers.
Surviving is his loving wife of 57 years, Diana Lampley of Buckner. Paul Lampley II and wife Stephanie of Thompsoville. Bradley Lampley of Buckner, Heather and husband Chad Carney of Benton.
Grandkids: Colton Herzog, Jacob Jay, Kylie Roberts, Kady Richey, Emmy-Leigh Jay, Ashlyn Lampley, Isabella Lampley, Alexander Lampley and Gabriella Lampley.

Mr. Lampley was preceded in death by his Parents, Grandson-Baylen Lampley, 4 Brothers-Donald Sr., Archie Sr., Clarence & Tom Lampley and Infant Sisters- Dorothy & Lula Belle.
