Learned, Paul R., 67, of Parma, MI. went to be with his Lord Jesus on Sunday, September 22, 2024. Paul was a beloved Husband, Father, Son, Grandfather, and Brother. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Lucy; sons, Greg (Laura Reichow), Rich (Tiffany Sorgea), Ben (Natalie) and daughter Mary (John) Pashkevich; grandsons, Cole, Logan, Wesley, Brayden and Nolan; granddaughters Virginia (James) Schafer, Madison, Kiara, Elliana and Sabrina; sisters, Carmen North and Cathy (Paul) Sauve; he had numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and will be missed by his beloved dog, Zuzu. Paul is preceded in death by his brother Tom, and brother-in-law, Tim North.
Paul was born in Jos, Nigeria on June 3, 1957 and was the son of the late George and Millie Learned. Paul was a son of missionaries, and graduated from Hillcrest High School in Jos, Nigeria, class of 1975. He retired after 22 years as a machinist at AutoCam in Marshall, Michigan.
Paul loved his family, and enjoyed being with his children and grandchildren, especially at the kids' sporting events and the annual Father's Day trip to watch the Tigers at Comerica Park. Paul was an avid sports fan, especially, U of M Football, Detroit Tigers, Detroit Lions and Nigeria Soccer.
He and his wife, Lucy were members of Village Hope Church in Jackson, MI. and are grateful to all of their friends and family throughout his journey of life.
A celebration of his life will be held at 11:00a.m. on Thursday, September 26, 2024 at Village Hope Church, with visitation at 10:00a.m. until the time of service. Pastor Jeremy Toyer will be officiating with Interment following at Chapel Cemetery in Parma, MI.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Ethnos 360 to support missionaries, Dan and Hannah Knox.
