Paul led an incredibly rich and varied life, full of both adventure and a passion for learning. His journey, from dropping out of school to becoming a successful businessman in the tugboat industry, shows resilience and drive. He had an ability to seamlessly blend his professional life with his personal passions. His work with wood and boats, his love for history, and his role as an educator in the maritime world speak to his deep commitment to craftsmanship and sharing his knowledge.
He integrated family into his work and passions – teaching apprentices, building boats for family trips, and making sure his grandchildren had access to technology early on. His travels with his beloved Doris and his love of community activities like the Madisonville wooden boat show also show a man who valued both the tangible skills he honed and the experiences that shaped him.
