Paul R. Lester, 75
Paul R. Lester, 75, passed away peacefully at home on April 15, 2025. He was born January 1, 1950, in Portsmouth to the late George F. and Helen Spry Lester.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanne Berry Lester and three brothers: Donald, Bernard, and David Lester.
Paul was a 1968 graduate of Portsmouth West High School and a United States Navy Veteran. He retired from the Scioto County Department of Jobs and Family Services. He was a long-time member of Friendship United Methodist Church and a current member of Nauvoo Church in West Portsmouth.
He is survived by two daughters, Julie (Jason) Hazelbaker and Elizabeth (Byron) Wickham, 4 granddaughters: Ella Hazelbaker, Clara Hazelbaker, Hanna Wickham, and Jenna Wickham, a sister Marilyn Thompson, and several wonderful nieces, nephews, and friends.
A Gathering of family and friends celebrating Paul's Life will be held from 12:00 to 3:00PM on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at the Roger W. Davis Funeral home in West Portsmouth. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Huntington's Disease Society of America, https://hdsa.org/get-involved/donation-opportunities. Paul was a great guy. He was full of laughter and he was always smiling.
I always enjoyed talking to him at church. He will be missed and remembered.
