Long before his friends and family were ready to part with him Paul Daniel Merola went to be with the Lord on July 25th 2025 due to unexpected complications associated with removal of a small tumor.
Paul was born and raised in Canton Ohio and lived in Louisville for his adult life. He was preceded in death by his Mother and Father, Dorothy and Frederick.
His proudest moments in life were centered around his children; his son Brian & his wife Amanda, with their children, Ruth, Susanna, Allyson, Abraham, Samuel, Bethany, Lydia, and Benjamin; and his daughter, Stephanie & her husband Tim, with their children, Liza Jane and Marcy. He also leaves behind his beloved brother Fred.
Trying to escape the cold as often as possible, Paul enjoyed traveling to visit his brother in California, as well as helping his son and grandkids to move back and forth across the country as they were often called to do because of Brian's service as a Marine. He enjoyed working with electronics and building things with his hands. He had a deep love for aviation and of course coffee.
He will be remembered as a jovial friend, good neighbor, hard worker, faithful father & grandpa.
A memorial service will be held at Paquelet-Falk Funeral Home, 303 S. Chapel St., Louisville on August 7th at 10 am, with an opportunity for fellowship, food, and a celebration of Paul's life immediately following.
