Paul Charles Mullen, 79 passed away very unexpectedly on 25 January 2026. He was born in Atascadero California. He graduated from Atascadero High School in 1965, then went to Cal Poly,majoring in aeronautical engineering. Upon graduation, he was hired to work with Lockheed Missils and Space Company. After about 5 years, he applied for a job to work in Bavaria, West Germany, and lived there for 17 years. While there, he earned a MBA and a Masters degree in Computer Software.In 1988, he married Karin Book, in the Savage United Methodist Church. Then they went back to Bavaria, where they lived, worked and travelled for four and half years.
They moved back to Laurel MD, and worked in the local area. Paul became an accomplished clay target shooter while in Germany, and continued that in Maryland. He won several; awards all over the country/. After his retirement in 2005, he was able to go to more shooting matches, some of which Karin accompanied him.
Paul was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Fran Mullen, and three cousins: John Neumann, Ronnie Neumann, and Virginia Neumann. He is survived by cousin Valerie Leicester and her husband Stewart, and their children, Jennifer Davis, and Christopher Leicester.
