In Loving Memory of Paul Anthony Nese, Jr.
It is with heavy hearts that we bid farewell to our beloved Paul Anthony Nese, Jr. of Paramus, New Jersey, who passed away on December 11, 2024, at the age of 87. A pillar of strength and loving husband and father, his absence leaves an irreplaceable void in our hearts.
Paul was born on October 26, 1937, to Paul Sr. and Bertha Nese (nee Russo) in Jersey City, New Jersey. He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was stationed to protect the Panama Canal Zone.
Upon his return from serving his country, Paul embarked on a career as an apprentice with Pipefitters Local Union #274, remaining an active and dedicated member throughout his life. Paul married Mary Fergus and together, they built a beautiful family, raising two wonderful daughters, Mary Nese (Shuzdak) and Daria Nese (Alter).
Upon retiring, Paul embraced his passions for golf, fishing, and cooking, enjoying his well-deserved leisure time, and was an active member of the Kiwanis Club which focused its efforts on fundraising for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Paul is survived by his devoted wife, Mary; his daughters, Mary Shuzdak (her husband Len) and Daria Alter (her husband Brian), his sister Josephine Intini and his cherished grandson and light of his life, Justin Morgan Alter.
Visitation will be held at Volk-Leber Funeral Home, 268 Kinderkamack Road, Oradell, New Jersey on Monday, December 16th from 4:00 to 7:00pm.
A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, December 23rd at 11:00am at the Church of the Annunciation, 50 West Midland Avenue, Paramus, New Jersey. Friends and family who wish to honor Paul with a donation can direct their gifts to either St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (stjude.org) or Toys For Tots (toysfortots.org).
