Paul L. Nesselrodt

Paul Leonard Nesselrodt, 72, of Mt Jackson, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, September 26, 2025, with his family by his side. The family will receive friends and family at Valley Funeral Service in Edinburg on Wednesday October 1, 2025, from 6-8.

Paul was born on June 24, 1953, to John Paul Nesselrodt and Eleanora Nesselrodt. He was a graduate of Stonewall Jackson High School and retired from the Town of Woodstock as the Assistant Chief Operator at the Water Treatment Plant. He is survived by his wife, Flor Nesselrodt, daughter Angie Helsley and husband Chris, son Jeremy Nesselrodt, grandsons Sam Brinkley and Jacob Helsley, brothers Gene, Edward, and Dale Nesselrodt and numerous close friends and family.

In his younger years, Paul worked with his brothers and their father on the family's sawmill where people came from all over Virginia and West Virginia for lumber. Paul had a passion for spending time with his family and friends, taking trips to enjoy the valleys views, being in the woods, hunting and anything that had to do with carpentry, having built several barns, outbuildings and the home his daughter lives in as well as the home he lived in when he passed. Anyone who knows Paul knows his need for perfection when building anything. He never did anything halfway and took pride and satisfaction in his creations. He loved cutting wood and cut over 100 loads with his son the year before he passed.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Eva Estep, his brother-in-law Austin Estep and his two sisters in laws, Portia Nesselrodt and Dorothy Nesselrodt.
