Paul Andrew Olson, 60, of Perry, IA, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, November 25, 2024, at the Dallas County Hospital in Perry.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 9, 2024, at the Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home, Perry Chapel, located at 1721 Park Street, Perry, IA 50220. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Violet Hill Cemetery in Perry. Memorials may be directed to the family, and online condolences may be shared at www.caldwellparrish.com.
Paul was born on March 20, 1964, in Aberdeen, South Dakota, to Kleng and Shirley (Gruis) Olson. He graduated from Central High School in Aberdeen in 1982.
On February 17, 1990, Paul married the love of his life, Carsin Smith, in Knoxville, Illinois. Their union was blessed with four sons: Dallas, Scott, Chris, and Nate. To his family, Paul wasn’t just a provider; he was their rock, their guide, and their greatest source of love and inspiration.
Paul worked as a dispatcher for many years, overseeing the daily operations of transportation and delivery systems with skill and dedication. He cherished time with family and friends, especially at the lake, and was a passionate fan of the Miami Dolphins. He enjoyed watching football and basketball and was known for his love and devotion to his family.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Kleng and Shirley Olson.
He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Carsin Olson of Perry; his sons: Dallas (Adair) Olson and their children, Alexander and Theadore, of San Antonio, Texas; Scott Olson and his daughter, Parker, of Anchorage, Alaska; Chris (Lori) Olson and their children, Kai, Clara, and Kaelan, of Ashley, North Dakota; and Nate Olson and his daughter, Melody, of Mankato, Minnesota. Paul also leaves behind his brothers: Bruce (Linda) Olson of Las Vegas, Nevada; Brad (Sheree) Olson of Aberdeen, South Dakota; and Doug Olson of Aberdeen, South Dakota; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
