Paul Brian Phillips Sr., age 78 of Butler, Missouri died Sunday, November 30, 2025 at Medicalodge Nursing Home in Butler. He was born July 11, 1947 to Clifford Edmond and Pearl Frances Burrage Phillips in Westfield, Massachusetts.

Paul, one of three children, was born into a military family. He attended multiple high schools before graduating in Long Beach, California–the largest class in history at that time. Paul went to college at the University of Missouri, Kansas City and obtained a Bachelors Degree in Psychology. He married Melissa Kling on July 12, 1969 and to this union, one son was born. Paul worked for the West Central Missouri Action Agency, then as a purchasing agent for Bass Busters in Amoret, Missouri. He started a satellite monument shop in Nevada, Missouri and a chandelier business on the square in Butler.

Paul was a devoted and loving father and grandfather. Alongside his son, he raised orchids in a greenhouse behind their shop and also enjoyed gardening and tending to his yard. Paul had a passion for traveling abroad and a couple of his favorite places were Switzerland and Italy. His hard work ethic allowed him the opportunity to provide invaluable experiences and memories for his son. Paul liked to treat himself to Casey's ice cream–often stating it was the best. As a grandfather, his love and devotion to Hayden was unmatched, from teaching life lessons to lending a listening ear. Paul touched many lives and will be deeply missed by those who knew and love him.

Paul is survived by one son, Paul "Brian" Phillips Jr. of Butler, Missouri; one grandson, Hayden Reed Phillips of Butler, Missouri; and brother, David Phillips of Scott City, Kansas. Paul was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Melissa; and one brother, Bruce Phillips.
