Paul Price Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A. - Cresaptown on Dec. 12, 2025.
Paul Richard Price, 82, of Short Gap, WV, passed away on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at his home with his loving wife of 62 years by his side.
Born September 26, 1943 in Fort Ashby, WV, he was the son of the late William Frederick and Lillian Leona (Chaney) Price. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, William F. "Billy" Price, Jr. and Ronald Lee "Ronnie" Price and sister Delores Jean "Jeannie" Robertson.
Paul worked hard his entire life. He worked the land at his homeplace as a young boy, in the orchards as a young man and his adult life making a living as a school bus driver, at the Celanese plant, Kelly Springfield in the mill room and retired as a Teamster from Walter N. Yoder and Sons.
Paul was an athlete and a sports fan. He played basketball in high school and as an adult played fast pitch softball for the Cumberland Rocking Chair League when it was in its heyday. He enjoyed watching and going to NASCAR races. He spent many Memorial Day weekends at Charlotte Motor Speedway. He rooted for Pittsburgh Pirates and Washington Redskins. He was the biggest fan of his grandchildren who played soccer, softball, football, baseball and basketball. Paul did not miss many of their games. He cheered them on from the stands and would always wait for them after the games to congratulate them and offer his words of wisdom and encouragement. He was an active board member of the Frankfort High School Athletic Boosters Club. Paul was a lifetime member of the Cresaptown Eagles, Cumberland Outdoor Club and Cumberland Moose.
Paul is survived by his loving wife, Bonnie Jean (Borror) Price; children, Richard Scott Price (Karon), Paula Jean Price-Thomas (Mike), and Amy Lynn Williams (Cliff); seven grandchildren, Amanda (Derrick), Johnny, Nicholas, Jessi, Brody, Kane and Jax; nine great grandchildren, Chase, Olivia, Kati, Brayden, Remi, Raylynn, Aubrey, Ollie, and Emerson; sisters, Norma Shanholtzer and Anna Wheeler (Mike); and brother, Donald Price. Paul had numerous nieces and nephews who he dearly loved and they loved their Uncle Paul. Paul was known by many nicknames, Mud, Mudro, Lafe, Paulsy, Ruxell, and Super and affectionately gave nicknames to many of us that brought him joy.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 15205 McMullen Highway, Cresaptown on Monday, December 15, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
