Warwick, RI – Paul J. Prochet, 98, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 25, 2025, at Hope Health Hulitar Hospice in Providence. He was the beloved husband of the late Doris L. (Swaine) Prochet.

Born on April 20, 1927, in Boston, MA, to Henry and Annie (O'Reilly) Prochet, he was a lifelong resident of Warwick and a graduate of the former Aldrich High School. Paul served for almost four years in the United States Navy during World War II.

Paul was a driver/salesman for H.P. Hood Dairy and Ocean State Dairy for many years, retiring in 1989. In his retirement he worked as a driver for local NAPA Auto Parts Stores and for Roger Williams Auto Sales, Warwick, RI.

He was a longtime member of Norwood Baptist Church, Warwick. Paul was an avid duckpin bowler and participated in league play for many years. He also enjoyed playing softball and in the 1970's he served as the coach of the church's softball team. During his retirement, Paul, also affectionately known as "Ikey" to family, neighbors and friends, could be found walking the streets of his beloved Norwood neighborhood in Warwick, RI. Continuing into his late 90's, he would enjoy breakfast at Wein-O-Rama and then walk for exercise inside Warwick Mall, where he developed many friendships. For many years, Paul enjoyed spending vacation time in York Beach, Maine. He was an avid fan of the Boston Bruins, Celtics, Red Sox and New England Patriots!

He is survived by his three children, Donna L. Cleveland (husband Alan), William P. Prochet (wife Donna) and Raymond T. Prochet (wife Eileen). He was a beloved Grampa to his seven grandchildren - Dianna Weinand, Glen Cleveland, Steven Prochet, Jeffrey Prochet, Brian Prochet (wife Erin), Jason Prochet (wife Jessica) and Amy Prochet – and to his ten great grandchildren - Lucas, Alyssa, Kaiden, Faith, Sawyer, Amelia, Logan, Mackenzie, Bennett, and Cameron.

Calling hours will be held at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home, 659 East Greenwich Avenue, West Warwick on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, from 9:00 – 10:30 AM. His funeral service will be held at the funeral home immediately following and beginning at 10:30 AM. Burial, with military honors, will be in Pawtuxet Memorial Park Cemetery, Warwick.

Memorial donations can be made in Paul's name to Norwood Baptist Church, 48 Budlong Avenue, Warwick, RI 02888. Condolences may also be offered to his family and favorite memories of Paul shared online at www.carpenterjenks.com.
