Paul Provchy

Paul Provchy was born in Barberton, Ohio, to the late John and Anna Provchy, and passed away peacefully in his sleep in Largo, Florida. Paul was not defined by his work, but by what he could do for his family. He was an avid reader, always seeking both pleasure and knowledge through books. A proud Master Mason for more than 50 years, Paul dedicated his life to learning.

He worked at Seiberling Tire, Firestone, and Bridgestone Tire companies, and throughout his life he pursued many skills - becoming an Emergency Medical Technician, a plumber, an HVAC technician, and a pest control specialist. When tackling a new project or interest, he read everything he could find about it. Paul served his country honorably in the U.S. Army Armored Reconnaissance Division.

He is survived by sisters Violet Wamsley and Mary Evans, his three children, Vicki (Mike) Lonteen, Paul Provchy, Andy (Jenn) Provchy, step-children Steve and Chuck Bauer, nine grandchildren - Dana, Christopher, Samantha, Sydney, Stephanie, Ashlee, Aiden, Averie, and Xander, and two great-grandchildren, Michael and Lucas.

Services will be held on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at Cox-McNulty Funeral Home, 222 Norton Avenue, Barberton, OH 44203. Calling hours will be from 10:30 a.m. – 11:45 a.m., with a Masonic service from 11:45 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., followed by the service until 1:00 p.m. A graveside service with military honors will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Road, Seville, Ohio 44273, immediately following the service. Family and friends can gather at the Masonic Wayfarer Lodge at Craftsman's Park from 4pm - 6pm, located at 4395 Rex Lake Drive, Akron, Ohio 44319.
