Faith was a cornerstone of Louis's life as he was a faithful follower of Jesus and a longtime member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. In his free time, Louis loved the great outdoors, often spending time at the family cabin in Merrill. He had a love for gardening, planting almost two football fields of vegetables for family/friends. He cherished moments with family and friends, and he and Geraldine made many memories traveling together. A lifelong Green Bay Packers - Brewer fan, and the biggest supporter and fan of his grandchildren's sports. Louis also enjoyed attending tavern sign-ins or playing sheepshead with his buddies.

A funeral service with Military Honors for Louis will be held at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 508 County Road M Pickett, WI 54964 officiated by Rev. Jud Krohn. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 am until the time of the service. Burial will be held at Riverside Cemetery in Oshkosh.
