Paul Rock Obituary

Paul Sinclair "Sinny" Rock

May 2, 1938 - December 15, 2025

HUDSON FALLS – Paul Sinclair "Sinny" Rock, 87, a longtime resident of Hudson Falls, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 15, 2025, at home with his family at his side.

Born May 2, 1938, in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late Charles and Selina (Rabideau) Rock.

Paul married the love of his life, Yvonne S. Dashnaw on June 13, 1959, at St. Paul's Church in Hudson Falls. The two were married for 62 years before her passing on June 16, 2021.

Known to many as "Sinny", he worked for the DPW in the City of Glens Falls. Following his employment with the City of Glens Falls, he dedicated numerous years to Lake George DPW. Paul was deeply proud of his work in public service, contributing to the safety and beauty of the community. He played an essential role in keeping the roads safe during winter as a wingman in the plow trucks and maintained the landscape around the village throughout the rest of the year.

Paul loved being outdoors and took great pride in keeping his own property in pristine condition. His lawn was never overgrown and his Rose of Sharon bloomed beautifully every year. Paul enjoyed going down to the pond he had on his property. He loved to feed the birds and various animals that he shared his property with. If Paul had leftover food from lunches or dinners, he made sure it never went to waste and was happy to provide for the local birds, deer, and on occasion, squirrels.

He had numerous surveillance cameras on his property that he enjoyed watching. On a few occasions, Paul provided footage to the local police departments and assisted them in solving a variety of criminal activities.

Paul enjoyed watching the television series Oak Island and kept his family updated on the show and discussed where the treasure could be.

In addition to his parents and wife, Paul was predeceased by his siblings, Oliver Delocco, Ross Rock, Roger Rock, Chester Rock, Bill Rock, Betty Abbott, and Selina Doriski. His sister-in-law, Nancy Fish passed away a few short hours prior to his passing.

Survivors include his children, Karen Schworm (Brian) of Arizona, Paul Rock, Jr. (Wanda) of Cohoes; his grandchildren, Kristy Owens (Mark), Jennifer Schworm, Michelle Schworm, Jerrod and Cassey; his great grandchildren, Jonathan and Austin Owens and Brian C. Schworm.

Paul is also survived by his sister, June Rock, his brother, Melvin Rock, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, December 21, 2025, from 2 pm to 4 pm at Carleton Funeral Home located at 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.

Paul will be laid to rest at Union Cemetery on May 2, 2026, at 11 am.
