Paul L "Pete" Schleininger

Paul L. (Pete) Schleininger, age 100, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2025. Paul was born October 30th ,1924 in Canton, Ohio to the late Walter L. and Jessie H. (Butler) Schleininger. He was a graduate of Canton Lincoln High School and attended Kent State University. He participated in both football and basketball at Lincoln and also participated in basketball at Kent State University, Canton. Sports played an important role in Paul's life. He was a member of the Ohio Basketball and Football association. He was a registered official for both football and basketball and officiated many high school games in the Canton area.

Paul was inducted into the Stark County Basketball Hall of Fame on May 12, 2009. He enjoyed playing amateur basketball, fast pitch softball and fumbleball in Canton City Leagues. He was a member of the William McKinley Lodge #431, a life member of

Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Akron Tadmor Shriners Hospital, Stark County Amateur Basketball Association, The Canton Lincoln Alumni Club and the Professional Football Hall of Fame Club.

Paul was an employee of Griscom-Russell Company for 10 years, then retired from Babcock and Wilcox after 25 years of service.

Paul is survived by his wife, Ann Schleininger, to whom he was married for 72 years.
