"Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved" Acts 16:31
Paul Taekil Song of South Barrington, Illinois, entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, at his eternal home in heaven on March 31, 2025, at the age of 84, after two courageous years of battle with vascular dementia.
Born on August 7, 1940, in Seoul, South Korea, Paul was a son of Won Book Song and Seung Ja Yoo.
He is survived by his loving children, Sharon (Jin Woo) Lee, Solomon (Jinny) Song, John (Angie) Song; his cherished grandchildren, Nathaniel Lee, Krisalyn Lee, Ephraim Lee, SJ Song, Christine Song, Ryan Song, AJ Song, and Matthew Song; his brothers, Tae Hwan Song, Ted (Mee) Song; his sisters, Tae Jun (Eui) Noh, Hae Sun (Tom) Cho, Joy Hwang, Hae Sook Song; many nephews and nieces and their spouses and their great nephews and great nieces.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Pung Ja Song; his brothers-in-laws James Hwang and Kwang Jo Lee.
Paul graduated from Duksoo High School, Kyung Hee University in Seoul, Korea and Trinity Evengelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Illinois.
He and his family immigrated to Chicago, Illinois, in 1979 from Seoul, Korea and lived in the Chicago area and served in churches as an elder at first and as a pastor and short-term missionary after graduating from seminary rest of his earthly life.
His main passion was to carry out the Great Commission of Jesus Christ to all over the world; including but not limited to countries like Korea, China, Afghanistan, Dominican Republic, Ethiopia, India, Indonesia, Ivory Coast, Japan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mexico, Mongolia, Peru, Philippines, Russia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, Vietnam, USA, and more.
His love for his family was second by witnessing to his siblings and his parents when he became a Christian at a young age and loved spending time with his own family and extended families.
He loved volunteering for many organizations around the area to help support different Christian causes.
If he was able to meet you today, then he would say, "Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and you will be able to live in eternity in heaven with Jesus" just as he said so many times during his life.
