Paul Sweeney Obituary

Paul is survived by his wife Janet (Crowley) Sweeney of Norwell MA, his sons John & his wife, Brook Sweeney of Cambridge MA, Scott Sweeney of Quincy MA & Ryan & his wife, Maura Sweeney of Hingham MA. He was also a grandfather to his beloved grandchildren, Grady & Maura – who affectionately referred to him as Gunther.
Paul was born on March 18th, 1949, in Boston MA to George & Kathleen Sweeney. He grew up in Mattapan MA with siblings George, Joseph, Kathleen & Timothy, where he also met his future wife Janet. Paul worked as a restaurant equipment salesman for many years, but his biggest passion in life was his 3 sons. From playing wiffle ball in the yard, to attending the kids' sports games, Paul was always his son's number one fan. Paul had a quick wit, and dry sense of humor that will surely be missed.
A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, March 23rd, 2024, at Sullivan Funeral Home in Hanover, MA. Visitation will be held from 11:00 – 12:00 PM, with a service beginning at noon. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Paul's life.
In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in memory of Paul to support cancer research and patient care.
