Mr. Paul D. Thompson, age 84 of Lebanon, passed away February 23, 2025 at the Hartsville Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Smith County, TN, August 30, 1940, son of the late Henry Thompson and Emma Gill Thompson. Mr. Thompson was a member of Webb's Chapel Baptist Church. He worked as a diesel mechanic, working on heavy equipment for APAC Paving Company.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-one years, Josephine Gray Thompson on April 4, 2021; two brothers, William H. "Boots" Thompson and Glen Thompson; sister, Margaret Sue Phillips.
Survivors include: three children: Elaine (Jimmy) Smith, Mark (Christy) Thompson, David (Pam) Thompson; four grandchildren: Jennifer (Sam) Moses, Jake (Elisabeth) Smith, Tiffany Thompson, Tatum (Remington) Tyler; five great-grandchildren: Taylor Moses, Ella Kate Smith, Oaklyn, Rhett, and Riggs Tyler; two brothers: Bobby (Donna) Thompson and Buddy (Brenda) Thompson; sister: Ruth (Randy) Lackey.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at 11 a.m. from the Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home, with Bro. Brody Ferrell and Bro. Dannie Bell officiating. Interment – Wilson County Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers: Jake Smith, Wendell Thompson, Allan Thompson, Sam Moses, Taylor Moses, Remington Tyler, Randy Ballard, Jeff Lannom. Special thanks to caregiver Deborah Barr and Hartsville Health and Rehab. Visitation Tuesday February 25, 2025 4-7 p.m. and Wednesday after 10 a.m.
