Mrs. Lois Nichols McCrary, age 83 of the Beasley's Bend Community in Lebanon, passed away August 11, 2025 at Lebanon Health Care. She was born October 14, 1941, in Blairsville, GA the daughter of the late Roene Nichols. In 1958, she married Charles E. McCrary in Helena, Montana. They had three children: Charles, Denise, and Edwin. In 1973, they moved to Baxter, TN, where they lived for several years. In 1997, they moved to Lebanon and became members of Cedar Creek Baptist Church. During her working career, she worked as a clerk at Kwik Sak, was a hostess at Shoney's and finally retired from Orion Building Corporation.
Lois was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Roene and Hasten; son, Charles A. McCrary; three grandchildren: Jason Loftis, Tiffanie Davis, and Arthis Hendryx.
Survivors include her husband of 67 ½ years, Charles E. McCrary; daughter-in-law, Janice McCrary of Rock City; daughter, Denise Rowland of Missouri; son, Edwin (Debbie) McCrary of Castalian Springs; two sisters: Diane Hughes and Cheryle Ashe of North Carolina; 12 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, 25 great-great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 15, 2025, at 11 a.m. from the Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Shelby officiating. Interment – Double Springs Cemetery near Baxter, TN. Honorary Pallbearers: Ladies Sunday School Class of Cedar Creek Baptist Church; Active Pallbearers: Randy Beavers, Eddie McCrary, Brian Davis, James McCrary, Tim Banks, Dwayne Hunter.
Visitation will be on Thursday 3-7 p.m. and after 10 a.m. Friday at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home.
