Paul Thomas Torango, husband, father, son, grandfather, brother, uncle...passed away suddenly Wednesday, June 11, 2025 in
Bay City, Michigan, age 66. Born to Thomas and Geraldine (Cullen) Torango in Wyandotte, Michigan, Paul leaves to remember him his parents; his loving wife of 47 years, Cindy (Brooks) Torango; three children: Christopher (Angela) Torango, Tracy (Kim) Hunn, Robert (Abby) Torango; seven grandchildren: Kayla Torango, Seth Payton, Ethan Payton, James Hunn, Samantha Hunn, Dorothy Torango, and the future Madelyn Sue Torango, arriving in October 2025. Also surviving are sisters Pam (Pete) Woodruff, Melanie (Mark) Ceo and Amy Torango, along with many other family members, including in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Paul loved his family before everything else--even the Detroit Red Wings, Tigers and Lions and, of course, the Michigan Wolverines--GO BLUE! He was so very proud of his children and grandchildren, never ceasing to talk about them to anyone who would listen. He was a TV nut --known for turning on the set in one room before turning off the one he'd just been watching. Another love was cars--General Motors, of course! --having spent almost his entire career working at building cars. His favorite was his Little Red Corvette, taking Cindy along to car shows, swap meets, etc. He was a big fan of cruises, having taken Cindy on three to the Bahamas. Dressed up for one formal picture looking like a gangster, daughter Tracy told him.
The family wishes to thank the Medstar paramedics and the McLaren Bay Region emergency, cardiac and critical care teams for the amazing compassion, care and attention provided to Paul.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life to honor Paul Torango will be held on July 5, 2025, between the hours of 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the clubhouse of the Georgetown Country Club, 1365 King George Blvd., Ann Arbor, Michigan 48108. The family encourages you to wear sports gear for your favorite team, as everyone knows Paul was a huge fan of the Detroit Red Wings, Tigers, and Lions, and especially the Michigan Wolverines. We will share anecdotes and memories of Paul. There will be many tears, but also laughter when we remember his quirks, silly sayings and favorites. Light refreshments will be served.
Our beloved Paul lives on in the organ and tissue donations made through Gift of Life Michigan.
