Joan M. Larkin

Joan M. Larkin, age 86, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Wednesday night, February 18, 2026. The daughter of the late Albin and Beatrice (Reder) Glaza, she was born on March 16, 1939 in Bay City and has resided here since. Joan graduated from Bay City Central High School and retired from Kinney Dairy. She was a longtime member of All Saints Parish – St. James Church where she was active with the Altar Society and the Legion of Mary.

On October 20, 1956 Joan was united in marriage to Raymond C. Larkin and sadly he preceded her in death on October 20, 2020. Joan is survived by their four children, Raymond (Joan) Larkin, Denise (Don) Cieslinski, Christopher (Mary) Larkin and Colleen (John) Gingerick; 15 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and a great-great granddaughter. She is also survived by her brother, Albin (Diane) Glaza; three sisters, Janice Galus, Sharon Barcia and Darlene Merrow; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Esther May Wirth, Fred Larkin, Oliver Larkin, Jimmy (Maryanne) Larkin, Jerry (Mimi) Larkin and Harold (Jill) Larkin; and several nieces and nephews. Joan was also preceded in death by two grandsons, Keegan Larkin and Nicholas Sutton; a great grandson, Christopher Larkin III; a sister, Loretta Rider; three brothers-in-law, Frank Galus, Rick Merrow and John (Sue) Larkin; and a sister-in-law, Sharon Larkin.

The Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 at All Saints Parish – St. James Church with Fr. Jose Cabrera presiding. The Rite of Committal will follow at Floral Gardens Cemetery. Visiting hours will be at Trahan Funeral Chapel on Monday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary Prayer Service at 2:15 p.m., and at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Charitable contributions may be directed to the wishes of the family.
