Scott Stevenson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Trahan Funeral Chapel & Prearrangement Center on Feb. 2, 2026.
Our beloved son, brother, "funcle", nephew and dear friend to so many, Scott Martin Stevenson, age 51, passed away early Saturday morning, January 31, 2026 at Hurley Medical Center in Flint as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Born on June 2, 1974, he has been a lifelong resident of Bay City and graduated from Bay City Central High School in 1993. Scott started at Euclid Industries before moving to S.C. Johnson Co. where he worked for over 25 years. He very much enjoyed the many friends he made there and as a Team Lead Technician Scott's co-workers will miss his influence and leadership. For many years, Scott and his family have worked alongside each other on the Bay City fireworks with Wolverine Fireworks Display.

With his larger-than-life personality, Scott could light up a room with his unparalleled laughter and smile. "Scooter" easily made friends wherever he went. He was kind and generous, as his neighbors that received free snowplowing from Scott would attest. He was an avid sports enthusiast and was well known as the Detroit Lions Greatest Fan. Golfing and camping were favorite pastimes and Scott's scary campfire tales were legendary. As a devoted son and brother, he had a dedication to family that had no bounds. He adored his nieces and nephews. To Scott they were his own, and to them he was their awesome "Scoot Dog."

Scott is survived by his loving mother, Rose Ann (Erndt) Stevenson; his siblings, Sherry (Joseph) Kusmierz, Barb (Dave) Niedzielski and Todd (Sara) Stevenson; his dear nieces and nephews, Seth (Sam), Summer (Sebastian), Kevin (Kiwako), Michael, Jenna (Kyle), Kyle (Shannon), Jake (Christina), Carter and Andrew; grand nieces and nephews, Marley, Kiko, Kina, Jozlyn, Walter, Elizabeth and Lorelai; and his special companion Gaby Martinez and her daughters, Leah and Gianna. Scott is also survived by his aunts, uncles, cousins and so many great friends to numerous to name. He was sadly preceded in death by his father, Robert A. Stevenson; a sister, Kathy Huiskens; and a brother, Rob Stevenson.

Scott's loved ones have ensured his legacy will live on through organ and tissue donation with Gift of Life Michigan, and through that generous decision, he will touch countless others as the family members, friends and communities of those who receive this gesture will be forever impacted by their improved quality of life, made possible through these selfless gifts.

A Celebration of Life Ceremony for Scott will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 6, 2026 at Trahan Funeral Chapel. The Ceremony will be led by Scott's good friend, Mr. John Campau. Visiting hours will be Friday from 12:00 to 8:00 p.m. Charitable contributions may be directed to the wishes of the family. To the family;

I am so sorry to hear about Scott and I'd like to offer my deepest condolences! My name is Rex Sabias, I retired approximately 8 years ago. I worked with Scott long-ago and remember him to be a hard-working and good man. A lot of our time together was spent out in the construction management area with Glenn Hart, George Drain and Dan Sugar. I choose to remember his great sense of humor and the conversations we all shared.

RIP Scott!!

Always a fun, smiling , happy person that i had the honor of going to school with for many years. Art class in high school was always so much fun, laughing and joking with Scott and getting yelled at by our teacher at times too, lol.
Rest in peace. Prayers, hugs and love to his family.

Rose, Sherry, Barb and Todd, I struggle for words.
This breaks my heart and the sadness is overwhelming.
Scott turned out to be quite a man, I enjoyed following his life on Facebook.
I will always remember and keep your family in my prayers.
