Paul Warnell Jr. was born on August 17, 1946 in Marshalltown. He was the son of Paul and Irene (Meiling) Warnell. Paul graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1964. He was united in marriage to Patricia Dodge on December 4, 1964. Although, they would later divorce, they remained close friends. Buck had worked for the railroad and at Hawkeye Glass before owning his own construction business: Paul Warnell Construction. Buck mostly enjoyed being at home and there was always something for him to work on or tinker with. He enjoyed baking cookies, making jam and tending to his garden. Buck loved being a member of the Elks and enjoyed the pot lucks or holiday parties they would have. He was also the Elk's Chaplain.
Buck is survived by his children: David Warnell of Holdrege, Nebraska, Robert (Leigh) Warnell of Muskego, Wisconsin, Melanie (Mike) Campbell of Freeland, Michigan and Eric (Tammy) Warnell of Fairfield, Iowa. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren (with one on the way); and sister-in-law and very special friend: Mary Ellen Warnell along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Buck is preceded in death by his parents, Paul Sr. and Irene along with three sisters and two brothers.
