Paul Daniel Wilson, 53, of Canton, GA, passed away on June 27, 2025, during a brief stay in hospice care, surrounded by those who deeply loved him.

He was born February 8, 1972 in Lynn, MA and was the son of the late LeRoy H. Wilson and Rosemary (Smith) Wilson.

He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Henry and Gladys Wilson & William and Violet Smith and his beloved Uncle Roger Wilson.

Paul graduated from Irmo High School in 1990 and then studied at the University of SC for 2 years prior to joining the Air Force, November 1992, following in his father's footsteps. He served as Guidance and Control airman at McCord Air Force Base in Tacoma, WA and was honorably discharged in 1996. He then moved to Acworth, GA to raise a family.

Paul served as a Cub Scout leader to his 2 boys for 6 years and studied Taekwondo with his sons for 3 years and they all achieved the rank of first-degree Black Belt. He also loved horseback riding, donning his special cowboy hat and boots, reading, collecting many things such as his huge DVD collection, shot glasses, flashlights, special knives and heirloom guns.

Pauls love for maintenance and problem solving of assembly lines, schematics and machinery, showed through with his career choice. He loved his jobs at Domino's Pizza Distribution Center (maintenance engineer) , 3M (plant engineer) and most recently Smithfield Foods (electrical maintenance specialist), all in Atlanta.

Paul was strong in spirit, a gentle soul, and loved by all. He will be greatly missed but never forgotten as a father, son, brother, uncle, and fiancé.

Paul leaves behind his 2 sons, Donnovan and Bryce Wilson, and their mother, Zina McCrory; sisters, Kim (Gary) Johnston and Tracy(Brian) Dudley; brother, Darryl Wilson; his fiancé, Sylvia Reisel Venable and her 3 sons, Hayden, Logan and Bryce. He will forever be fondly missed by his nieces and nephews as the fun and lovable uncle. Paul also leaves behind his beloved dogs, Millie and Bruno, and his very sweet cat, Stryker.

Paul will be laid to rest Monday, November 24, 2025 at 10:00 am at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA. His parents are also buried there. Rest in peace with your Mum and Dad, Paul!

We wish to thank the ICU team at Emory University Hospital for doing everything they could for Paul and the hospital Hospice team for their tender loving care for Paul and family.
