Paul Worst

Paul Richard Worst, 87, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2026, at Cody Regional Health Long Term Care Center. Paul was born on March 5,1938 in Cody to James Ross and Fern Lucille (Morin) Worst. He married his high school sweetheart, Deanna Beth Falkingham, on June 4, 1960, and were married for nearly 59 years until her passing on October 30, 2019. Paul worked for the State of Wyoming with the Game and Fish Department, which was his passion and moved him all around the state to various fish hatcheries including the old Cody hatchery, Clarks Fork, Tillett Springs at Lovell, Daniel and Boulder hatcheries, until he ultimately built a home in Cody and retired after 36 years of working for the state. He enjoyed watching sports, hunting, fishing, camping, playing bridge with his wife and was a member of the Methodist Church. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, James and Fern, as well as his wife Deanna Beth. He is survived by his children, Debra Jo (Mark) Hamilton of Sheridan, WY and Donald James Worst, his grandchildren Donald Paul Hamilton, Mary Margaret (Devin) Glantz both of Sheridan, WY, Daniel Ross Worst of Jacksonville, NC, Lauren Jo Worst, of Denver, CO and one great grandchild, Raina Lee Hamilton of Sheridan, WY. Services will be held Thursday, February 19 at 1:00 p.m. at Ballard Funeral Home with a burial to follow at Riverside Cemetery in Cody.
