Paul Zinn Obituary

Publish in a newspaper

Paul William Zinn, age 81, died peacefully on November 10, 2025. Born in Baltimore, Maryland on August 18, 1944, Paul was the second child of Rudolph and Dorothy Zinn.

Paul began his professional career as a Highway Engineer with a private company, eventually moving on to complete his career with the State of Maryland. One of his early projects, before he left the private industry, was the proposed MAG-LEV transportation system, which has been abandoned by the state only recently.

He enjoyed working with tools, and built an entire addition to the house years ago. When the cold weather kept him inside, Paul used his carpentry skills to craft beautiful furniture, including desks, and bookshelves.

Although Paul didn't like the winter months, he looked forward to the warmer spring and summer seasons when he could enjoy his many outside activities. He began with planting and tending vegetable, fruit, and flower gardens, and cutting small trees to split into the logs for his winter fireplace fires. Whenever possible, Paul joined his two sons or his group of fellow golfers to play golf at a nearby course. Besides these activities, Paul also looked forward to crabbing with his four grandchildren whenever possible.

Paul and his beloved wife, Rita celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary this year. Besides Rita, Paul is survived by his dear children - Michael, Darrell, and Eva, his four treasured grandchildren - Owen, Audrey, Kendall, and Natalie, and his brother Rudy.

Friends may call at the Mitchell-Wiedefeld Funeral Home 6500 York Road Baltimore, Md. 21212 on Monday December 1st from 11:00am-12:00pm. A Prayer Service will follow at 12:00pm at the Funeral Home.
