Paula Owen Baumann

Mrs. Paula Lane Owen Baumann, 74, formerly of Easley, SC, passed away Sunday, December 28, 2014 at her home in Covington, GA. Mrs. Baumann was Born in Easley, SC on March 11, 1940 to the late Walter Paul and Sylvia Lesley Owen. Paula attended Easley High School where she met, and married the father of her children. Professionally, Paula was a bookkeeper for most of her life, spending the bulk of her tenure at Texaco. Like her mother, Sylvia, she was a seamstress. She is known to have created outfits for her sons, granddaughters, and once even fashioned a wedding dress for a family member. Paula was also known for her love of animals. Through the years, Paula often adopted puppies, older dogs and multiple felines. And she always had quirky names for her pets. Musically, Paula loved several genres of music, ranging from country to jazz, and square dancing songs to famous tenors such as Luciano Pavarotti. Mrs. Baumann is survived by two sons; John Garnet Owens, Jr., of Covington, GA, and Walter Ray Owens and his wife Tracey, of Cumming, GA; two sisters; Norma Thompson and her husband Jimmy, and Joyce Duncan and her husband Gary, both of Easley; and three granddaughters, Chelsea, Garnet and Maggie. Paula was additionally blessed to have had great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Lesley Owen, and her husband, Garry Baumann. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, January 3, 2015 in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home ? Downtown, with the Rev. Jack Anderson officiating. Plans are being made to have Paula's remains reunited with her late husband Garry's, where they will rest together in a veteran's cemetery.
