Paula Claire Cardinal, born on April 4, 1937, in Leominster, MA, departed this life on March 7, 2026, in the home she loved surrounded by loved ones. A beacon of unwavering love, Paula spent her life cultivating a warm and inviting home in Lunenburg, Massachusetts, where she created countless cherished memories alongside her beloved family and dear friends. As a loving, loyal, generous, and supportive wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother, Paula's spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those she has left behind. Her life was a living example of the quote, "The greatest gift you can give someone is your time, your attention, your love, your concern."
Paula was a dedicated Assistant Prepress Organizer at Eusey Press in Leominster, MA, from where she retired and developed many loyal friendships. She was also an esteemed Brownie Troop Leader, and she was an active member of the Ladies of St. Boniface Guild. Paula enjoyed her hobbies of baking, crocheting, and cake decorating, talents which brought joy and sweetness into the lives of many. Paula's passion, however, lay in her family. Her trailer in Wells, Maine, was her sanctuary, a place where she spent summers with her husband and enjoyed the beauty of nature and family.
Paula is survived by her devoted husband, Leo Cardinal, whom she married on March 28, 2000, daughters Tina King and her partner Steve Stark, Pamela and Jay Cruz, Lisa and Richard Hastings, Michelle and John Petie. Beloved by her grandchildren: Billy Hughey, Paula Hughey and husband Lance Gray, Rachael and husband Malachy Fallon, Danielle and husband Brett Bohl, Derrick and wife Melissa Cruz, Nathaniel Petie and Esme Petie. And adored by her beloved great-grandchildren Billy, Abby, Isla, Nora, Liam and Beckett. Paula also leaves her sister Jane Bilotta and her brother-in-law Alan Jancaitis, as well as many loved nieces, nephews, step-children, and extended family and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Pearl Rainville, her sisters, Deanna (Pip) Baron, Nancy Janciatis, and her brother-in-laws, Amedeo (Butch) Bilotta and Leon (Lee) Baron.
The family would like to express their gratitude for the outstanding care Paula received from the CNAs in the recent months.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to Beacon Hospice. Checks made out to: Amedisys Foundation, 3854 America Way, Suite A Baton Rouge, LA 70816
